Hey, y’all! I recently had the chance to drive the new 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD thanks to my friends at Toyota. Perfect for staying safe during the pandemic, I jumped on the opportunity to take the Avalon on a couple of roadtrips around Kentucky & Indiana, including a stay at the beautiful West Baden Springs Hotel (more on that to come). Want to know my thoughts on the 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD? Keep reading for my review.
Features of the 2021 Toyota Avalon
New All Wheel Drive Capability
The new Toyota Avalon has the capability and performance of all-wheel drive by sending 50% of the torque to the rear wheels. This leads to more grip & confidence on every road.
3.5L V6 Engine
The 3.5L VG Engine unleashes 301 hp, yet still maintains an impressive efficiency of approximately 32 hwy mpg. Equipped with the latest technologies – such as Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Wide (VVT-iW) and D-45 direct injection paired with a smooth Direct Shift 8-speed transmission – the 2021 Toyota Avalon will deliver the perfect rush while on the road.
In driving the Avalon, you’ll notice an increased fuel efficiency and vehicle quietness via the use of tangential vents on the sides of the front bumper, an available rear spoiler, an available rear diffuser, and underbody panels that shave its coefficient of drag to 0.27.
Adaptive Variable Suspension
The Avalon’s Adaptive Variable Suspension provides instantaneous damping adjustments to help maximize handling, which is furthered when in Sport Mode.
Found on the Avalon Touring + available on the XSE Nightshade Edition, Engine Sound Enhancement (ESE) increases the engine’s voice through the vehicle’s audio system. The Intake Sound Generator (ISG) and sport exhaust also produce an aggressive note during acceleration.
The Avalon TRD
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) applies it’s track-tuning expertise to this version of the Avalon for greater handling, thrilling performance, and bold styling. This is the model that I drove — and the car’s sharp exterior turned heads around town to say the least!
Haven’t Convinced You Yet? My Top Personal Reasons To Purchase The 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD
I’ll confess, y’all: I’m an SUV kind of guy. That said, believe it or not, the Toyota Avalon is roomier than my current SUV. It is the most spacious car that I have ever driven (note: I’m 6’4!). I also love the fact that it has air conditioned + heated seats, perfect for any season. Apple Car Play? A must for me! But, most importantly, Toyota Avalons are Kentucky proud, y’all — they’re made in Georgetown, Scott County, Kentucky. That fact, coupled with all of the above features, lends me to wholeheartedly recommend this car for your next vehicle purchase.
Go Toyota & you’ll stay with Toyota. They are truly the best!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
Thank you, Toyota, for working with me on this post.
