Hey, y’all! ‘Tis the season to shop for your loved ones — and to make your life easier, I have crafted a series of Kentucky-focused gift guides for your Holiday 2020! Next up? My 2020 guide for the Kentucky hostess + teacher(s) in your life. Both of which, in my opinion, have jobs of utmost importance!
Kentucky Hostess + Teacher Gift Guide 2020
EF Meeks: Tea Towel
Based in Lexington, EF Meeks is a Kentucky-made fashion line that asserts that “looking good is a family tradition”. I adore everything that he does! He recently released this tea towel; to understate, I’m obsessed. Shop EF Meeks here.
For Pete’s Sake Pottery: Coffee Mug
For Pete’s Sake Pottery is Louisville-based. Perfect for the individual in your life with classic, preppy, southern style – y’all will love all of the blue and white designs. This gingham mug? It’s what dreams are made of. Shop here.
Ruth Hunt Candy: Cream Candy + Turtles
Based in Mt. Sterling, Ruth Hunt is the perfect choice for a Kentucky teacher or hostess with a sweet tooth (and, in my opinion, candy is a foolproof, classic gift). Ruth Hunt Turtles, affectionately called “Derbies”, feature their handmade caramel, pecans, and are covered in rich milk chocolate. Their cream candy is equally as divine, as it features heavy whipping cream and butter. It’s a Kentucky tradition, a classic, and they promise it tastes “just like your Grandmother made”. Ruth Hunt will celebrate it’s centennial birthday next year! Shop here.
Kentucky Derby Museum: Wallet + T-Shirt
The Kentucky Derby Museum is both an integral part of Kentucky culture + a fabulous shopping destination. I love that they feature Vineyard Vines items, one of my favorite brands, as they are the Official Style of the Kentucky Derby. Alongside Vineyard Vines, I thought that this wallet was also a stunning choice. Apart from their standard location, they also have a pop-up shop at the Outlets of the Bluegrass through the holidays! Shop here.
Buff City Soap: Large Gift Set
A new brand to Kentuckiana, there are currently Buff City Soap locations in St. Matthews, NuLu, and Jeffersonville, Indiana. Buff City Soap boasts handmade soap & skincare products, which are made with only plant-based and skin-approved ingredients. The scents are heavenly! For the hostess/teacher in your life, I recommend a large gift set in the scent “Narcissist” — so good, y’all! Shop here.
Peake Ties: Fanny Packs
Based in Louisville, Peake Ties makes the most beautiful ties — perfect for a day at Keeneland or Churchill Downs. That said, they’ve recently released some very fun products including these fanny packs. How cute are they? Shop here!
